Michigan Transgender Day of Rememberance events

All events on the Transgender Day of Rememberance, Thursday, November 20th.

Ferndale- Transgender Michigan presents National Day of Remembrance service at Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit, 2441 Pinecrest. Guest speakers include Jeffrey Montgomery of Triangle Foundation, Jamie Marie Phillips of Transgender Michigan, and Michael Larson of Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center. Co-sponsored by Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit and Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center.

East Lansing- 7-9PM. Transgender Michigan presents Transgender Day of Remembrance service at the Greater Lansing Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lansing, 855 Grove St, East Lansing. Speakers include representatives from the office of Governor Jennifer Granholm; Rachel Crandall, ACSW; Executive Director of Transgender Michigan; Jay Kaplan, Staff Attorney for the glbT Law Project of the ACLU; Berl Schwartz, editor and publisher of the City Pulse; representative from the office of Senator Virgil Bernero. Ann Arbor- 6:30PM. U/M Diag. Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil. The community will join together to remember all of the transgender folks who have died of anti-transgender violence within the last year. Outloud Chorus will join us to share some music at the beginning of the vigil. After the vigil the community will march to the Michigan Union Kuenzel room to end the program with a gathering.
